About the Program
Barium Springs understands that children learn best in a variety of settings. Sometimes, these settings aren't available in the traditional educational system. To ensure these youth do not get left behind academically or socially, Barium Springs offers therapeutic education (day treatment) that focuses on behavioral and educational needs.
In many cases, these students need more individualized classroom attention, or they need a more hands-on learning approach than what is available in main stream schools.
Partial or Full Day Treatment
Partial day treatment takes place after school and is for students having difficulty at home or at school but can still remain in public school. Transportation is provided. Full day treatment takes place during the regular school day and is for students not able to remain in public school. Both programs include individual, group, and family therapy as well as case management. Substance abuse day treatment is available also and involves a certified substance abuse counselor and a licensed substance abuse counselor.

We provide therapeutic education programs in the following locations:
- Springs Academy located in Statesville, NC serves ages 5-18 (full or partial day treatment)
- Barium Springs Preschool in Statesville, NC serves ages 3-5
